I guess you all are thinking, it is a bit late for a summer reading book list, but I have worked right through the summer and will be going on holiday, finally!!! 🙂 Some of these books I have already read like Ready Player One, but it was such a great sci-fi book, I have to recommend it. As well as Astrophysics for people in a hurry. I mostly, like to stay in the realm of non-fiction, and sci-fi for fiction.
- Rhinoceros Success : the Secret to Charging Full Speed Toward Every Opportunity by Scott Alexander
I have started listening to this as an audio book during my daily commute to work, and I have to say it gives quite a quirky perspective on how to achieve success, through the eyes of a rhino.
- Astrophysics for People in a Hurry by Neil deGrasse Tyson
This is a great book for dipping your toe into the realm of astrophysics. The complex topics are broken down into bite-sized chunks, which make it easy to understand.
- Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
Probably one of the best sci-fi books I have read. It is really nostalgic if you are a 80’s or 90’s kid. If you like sci-fi, I would highly recommend reading it.
- Outnumbered by David Sumpter
This is one of the books which I haven’t read yet but I am really curious about the subject, algorithms. It is not very often you have a book which presents the practical application of mathematics to the real world.
- Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman
When it comes to books which are introspective, it can be quite long and tedious read. This is one of those books which focus on the mind and your decision making process. But I am always keen to improve and better myslef. So, will be giving this a read.
- Valley of Genius: The Uncensored History of Silicon Valley by Adam Fisher
This was referred to me by one of my work colleagues. I guess anybody who works within the IT world is curious about the goings on in the silicon valley. The story behind the story. Another one I haven’t read yet, but looking forward to reading it.
Please let me know, the books which you are currently reading.
